I don't know. I really thought that Jazz was overrated. To this day I am still surprised that he made it through the original movie considering how many of the first line of toys that were killed off.
The only thing I can remember him doing is dying, twice. I literally can't remember anything he actually brought to the series other than having a cool voice actor.
I'm glad to hear that Dinobot has entered the Transformers Hall of Fame. One of the coolest characters in Beast Wars, and the various Transformers universes in general, definitely deserves to be Hall of Fame material.
However, I do think that Grimlock would have been a great second choice entry. You just got to love a robot with attitude that can transform into a T-Rex. :anime:
Had I known about this, I would have voted for Jazz. I'm not a huge fan of antiheroes, which Dinobot was for most of his career, and I think sports cars are cooler than velociraptors.
He had my favorite car design and he had an awesome voice and that was enough for me to love Jazz. I really can't think of much he ever did though outside of saying "Jazz to Moon Base 2!" during the beginning of the animated movie.
And this sums up why I am proud of the fans polled. They didn't vote based on superficial reasons. They scratched the surface for substance. Dinobot had substance. Jazz, Grimlock, and Soundwave? Not so much.
Had I known Soundwave was in actual danger of beating defeated, I might have voted for him over Grimlock, who I voted for. I dug the episodes about Grimlock and the Dinobots in the original cartoon. I never much cared for Beast Wars. I thought the CGI looked cheap.
Grimlock had some pretty good episodes. S.O.S. Dinobots/War of the Dinobots in season 1, Dinobot Island Parts 1 & 2 and Desertion of the Dinobots Parts 1 & 2 in season 2, and Grimlock's New Brain in season 3 are some that I can think of off the top of my head.
