Dine and Dash at Denny's?

So a couple of my friends call and they tell me they did a dine and dash at Denny's, they are freaked out about what may happen to them it been almost 3 hours and they are all at home do you think anything will happen to them?
one was 15dollars
one was 22
the other was 12
 
Really? How could anything happen to them? Unless the waitress has the number, or address of your friends, then I don't understand how they could be caught.
