Diminishing temperature increases due to more CO2 in the atmosphere - a physics based

explanation? According to Dr Richard Lindzen of MIT, the warming effect of each additional carbon-dioxide molecule decreases as more and more carbon is added to the atmosphere. This makes sense to me as seldom are physical processes linear. However I don't understand the physics behind this claim. Can someone provide the physics or scientific explanation behind this claim (or at least one that a mediocre physics undergrad could understand - graduated a long time ago!)

Don't want to start a whole AGW debate just get an elementary physics based explanation of the theoretical claim above.
