Dim prospects for future live action adaptations?

Humor me, cause usually whatever translates to "The person disagreeing with me made a valid point, but I'm too prideful to admit his/her validity". I'd like to hear what makes your complaining valid over an anime fan.

You can:
-Hate
-Bash
-Make rants

I don't care to much about those, but what I seen when the DB LAM came and how the fans over "REACTED" made me laugh and feel sad calling myself a DB Fan.

-Wishing death to the actors
-Hoping they will pay what this movie just did
-Saying "Rape" and other B.S

Thats to much. Thats going in a personal level if you ask me. But hey, thats me. I could have a pointless debate, but going personal? NOPE!

So then why is it okay for you to take anything related to BTTF and B&T personal?

I'm not condoning the fanboy's overreacting, I'm criticising your hypocritical comment on the matter. Overreacting is wrong no matter what the film is about.

How do you know I will act like a "True Fan" if Hollywood ever remake those movies? Will I be mad? Yes! Will I kick and yell? Yes! Will I go bananas all over it? YES! Will I wish death to others that are working on the film? No Will I say something about "Rape" to the remake? Na.
After what I have seen what "True Fans" acted over this DB film (And soon Cowboy Bebop ), I got to show a little pride when Hollywood looks at Bill & Ted and Back to the Future. Just a little. Hoping I will....HOPING!! (Oh please, don't let those movie a remake version out of it...Please.)

Perhaps rape is too strong a word (as well as the death threats), but it certainly seems they purposely tried too hard to distance the movie from the source material.

Going back to my example again, The Incredible Hulk TV Series was greatly different from the comics, yet it captured the feeling from the source material just the same (The stress and isolation brought upon by Banner's transformation into the Hulk). So even if an anime LA adaptation does require an overhaul, some effort could be made to keep it faithful at heart.

King, it really seems like you're trolling more than anything. You're running around every thread looking to bash criticsm of the DBE movie while going "HAW-HAW! There's a LA Bebop movie coming out, it's going to suck, and there's nothing you can do about it!" That's all you're doing.

On topic, Hulk is a funny example. The series was a loose adaptation of the comic, but when the first movie hit, people complained it wasn't enough like the series, so the reboot made it more like the series was (to its benefit I believe, as it was clearly superior to Ang Lee's version). So no, a word for word adaptation isn't what's wanted. A quality script with the themes of the source material intact is.

First time ever I been called like that. That hurted a little.

And I hope you know I did stop going through the DB LAM reviews a while ago. I'm not saying the Cowboy Bebop LAM will be bad. Hey, it might be decent...Maybe. I'm just seeing "RIGHT NOW" how the fans are acting to the LAM. It's getting up to like the DB Fans level, but I'm hoping it won't. But it will, it will.

Man, so much hate!

Yeah, it's amusing how many critics say Ang Lee's Hulk missed the point entirely when in fact it's actually pretty close to the comic. There are some fair points for criticism in that film (the final fight for example) but overall I think the problem is Lee gave us an intelligent, cerebral take on the character when everyone was demanded a brainless 'HULK SMASH!!' slamfest.

I wish rabQ will become a LAM. It's really not that hard to do. (Just don't give it to 20th Fox).

Oh, I forgot Robotech was becoming a LAM. It...Could work..Kind of. Maybe?
Plus I read something about Lupin the 3rd...LAM? Let me find the info what I'm talking about.

EDIT: Found it. Though I don't think the links will be helpful, but who knows. It might help out for someone.
Here's what the guy said when posted the links

I love Lupin III. and i always tought: "ahh, they should make a live action lupin, it could work well!"
then i tried to google for "lupin III live action"

obviously, i found the 1974 cheesy movie "Lupin III: Strange Psychokinetic Strategy", then a japanese live action tv series that was only inspired by Lupin, and also an italian short movie made apparently without any reason, this.

BUT! i also found that Whitelight Entertainment bought the rights for a live action movie back in 2003.

The movie will be produced by Gerald Molen, and it's scheduled to be released in 2009.

No official news yet, except this, which i just found here.

LUPIN III NEWS.
Big News! A Lupin the Third Hollywood movie production has been put into motion! The news was announced on February 25th, 2003 at a meeting of the Foreign Correspondents' Clup of Japan. The rights to make a Lupin the Third movie were bought by flim producer Gerald R. Molen, producer of Shindler's List, Jurassic Park, Minority Report, etc.
In the interview, Molen said smiling that he wants to form a close relationship with Monkey Punch. Looking very pleased, Monkey Punch aid "although there has been a lot of talk about making a Lupin the Third movie in the past, this is the first time that there has been this type of contract to make one. After hearing Molen's speech, I definitely want this project to suceed. If possible, I'd like this not to just be one film, but turn into a long running serries like the James Bond films."
When talking about a Lupin the Third movie, of course every fan wants to know who the cast will be, and if there will be any changes to the characters' names or to the story. When asked these questions, Molen said "it's still at too early a stage to say, but as for the story, I'd like the screen-play author to be given freedom concerning the concept. As for the characters' names, I'd like to keep an international feeling."
Monkey Punch happily replied "If the 5 characters as they have been established aren't changed, I'd like it to be made freely. Aside from that, my advice will only be one of the considerations for the producers."

i think that a Lupin live action movie would be awesome! Let's hope the project will carry on!

Hope not. I also found some info off from IMDB, but I don't trust that site so well for movie info. (IMO)
