Dim Headlights 1995 Ford Taurus?

Hello. I am having problems with my car lately. We just replaced the starter and the radiator in my 1995 ford taurus. I have a question...when driving at night we cannot see our headlights on the road. The dash lights and interior lights are working fine and are not dim at all. What could be the problem? Thanks
 
Yeah, LeAnne is right. My neighbor has a 98 contour. He took it to Wal-mart and for $39.95 they polished them up like new! I'm taking my 94 Escort next week. Hey you can buy the stuff off the shelf, use an electric drill as LeAnne says and screw around with it all day Saturday and probably do a decent job. You might save $20. I'll take mine to Wally World. Good luck.
 
If the headlamp covers are discolored significantly, you will need to have them polished.
Most auto supply outlets sell a kit from either 3M or McGuires that does a real nice job. All you need is a drill.
