Digimon thread

The Script was terrible, full of terrible jokes and added dialgouge which made no sense.

The voice actors, however, were awesome and should be commended.

It's very difficult talking about the digimon dub because of this unusual juxtaposition of Great voice actors being given a lame, joke-ridden script. I'd say that Tamers and Frontier had the best "overall" dubs as they had the fewest added jokes/dialogue.

Full? Only a few instances, it still a good dub overall. Tamers fewest added jokes? Frontier yes, Tamers I don't think so and even the original wasn't a piece of art. Digimon is and always will be.. a cheesy and cool show about monsters.(For children of course..)

Last ep of 02, easily. At least the Royal Knights arc had action. It got repetitive, sure, but I'd rather have repetitive fights than fighting with friggin' dreams and removing every shred of dignity from the most awesome villain in the history of the franchise.

Right. I always forget that one.

Could dub Takuya yell any louder? Any more and I'd think he belonged in Gurren Lagann. ("SPIRIT EVOLUTIOOONNNN! RAH RAWUH! AGUNIMON!")

They should have made a movie out of Daemon coming back if they couldn't use it for a season. That would have covered that nagging thread.

At least we got Tamers out of the deal

For me, it's easily the Royal Knights arc. When I first went on forums that talked about Digimon, I was actually surprised hearing about how so many people hated the ending to 02. I still remeraber feeling fairly happy about it. Sure, in retrospect, it was corny and a good chuck of the kiRAB' future didn't make a lick of sense, but I thought that it was kind of cute. It was nice to see that even into their adult years, all of the chosen children were still frienRAB and got together with their own kiRAB. I should rewatch that episode on Crunchyroll at one point to see if I still feel like that though.

With the Royal Knights arc, it just felt boring to me. They kept on losing over and over again and unlike with the BlackWarGreymon arc, the villains weren't interesting. Even the plots for most of the episodes were fairly dull. It did lead to a pretty decent finale though, which I think is the only part of the arc that I appreciated.

As I said, I'm know I'm being shallow. I can see how people might find Takato's personality a refreshing change after the much more outgoing, zealous Tai and Davis, but I just don't care for that kind of personality. I definitely feel that the characters grew much more naturally in Tamers than any of the other Digimon series, but I still didn't care for them, even by the end of the series.

Etemon had his Dark Network across the continent, but all I can recall him doing is using it to track the Digidestined's movements, not actively try to conquer anything.

Plus, how did he know about the Digidestined in the first place? It was pretty clear the Dark Network was limited to Server.

All the Renamon talk reminRAB me of a G Gundam fan I once knew who was insistent Rain Mikamura be paired with one.

From cyber hell's heart, I stab at thee!

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Season 3 was the best.
It got so dark and intense and I loved how it wasn't just the digidestined fighting the antagonist.

Even when I recently saw it again it managed to scare me and keep me in suspense. The d-reaper rocked and the ending was so emotional.
Scary Jeri was also good. The look on her eyes made me scream when she popped out of nowhere.

Beelzemon was also an awesome addition as well.

No they didn't. Crusadermon was a girl but there was NOTHING to hint that there was anything romantic about them. In either version.

Their relationship is the same.

I recently finished rewatching Tamers myself.

Originally I practically hated the series, but now...

Dang it. I like it.

I still find it to be my least favorite season, mainly because it deviates so far from the norm as far as Digimon is concerned, but different isn't a bad thing. It's just that: different. And I appreciate it for what it is.

Heck, I don't even mind Super Jello anymore.

See, this explains the title. With crap like Twitter and TV Tropes on the net, there's too much digital information for the Digimon to feed on and thus they have become morbidly obese.

Hence, Digimon 'Around'.

YOu know what would be nice? If Toei did for Digimon, what Gainex is doing for Evangelion. I wish Toei would retell the Original Story in a form of Movies. That would be Kickass I think.

You know, to this day I still wonder why they made Renamon the "child" level.

Then again, Tailmon is the "adult" level so I'm guessing they like to screw with our heaRAB like that (So many years for people to learn "No, Salmon is Child level, Tailmon's the Adult!")
