Digimon Adventure 02 on CR #11: "Raidramon, The Blue Thunder"

True. But come on, you can forgive that one since its Blum doing that line right?

(Though I see where you're coming from. That seemed out of place for a humorous moment)

I got a replacement computer with sound now so I could actually watch the ep XD

I'm really getting hooked on 'Break Up'! Its a fun BGM ^^.

Yeah Daisuke was being an idiot and needed a good punch in the face by Takeru. Or a good kick, that would have worked. I think he got off easy.

I think we pretty much got passed all the really boring or lame episode so far, its all cool stuff from here on out (more or less). It almost feels like watching the show for the first time all over again. The once a week format sure helps that feeling too.

Yeah, I really like Break Up too. It was stuck inside my head after I listened to the whole song yesterday. It has a nice and catchy beat.

I can understand that. Daisuke really needed to just go off and fight with the others. If Taichi could allow the others to go and attack MetalGreymon, then I think that should have given him enough strength to attack as well. I'm just still amazed he didn't realize what he did, or how exactly he did it, even by the end of the episode.

I hope that's the case since the only really good things I remerabered of the Digimon Kaiser arc from the dub was pretty much the three episode arc with Agumon and the last couple of episodes of the arc. Though, there is that Dark Ocean episode, but I'll wait until I see it subbed before commenting on that.

I was actually thinking of how refreshing it is to watch this series again myself. It does feel like I'm watching the series for the first time again too. I'm actually enjoying watching the subbed episodes more than I actually thought that I would. Not to offend those who often watch subs, but I usually can't get too into them or I just prefer watching the dub.

I'm going with less since I only remeraber the episodes of the Kaiser arc that Light Lucario mentioned and the next episode which I seriously don't like. (It was the Starmon or whatever its name was. I didn't like him or his voice at all)

Not to hate but I really consider 02 to be highly enjoyable but was really weak in the beginning and got slightly better in the second half (before completely crashing down in the last episode)

Ironically, I think Frontier had an amazing first half and really should have just stopped after Cherubimon was destroyed

Meh Frontier was hardly Digimon.

Plus it reminded me too much of this AWESOME message board RPG me and a couple of frienRAB had around the time 01 ended where we became stuck as Digimon full time until we manage to digivolve our way to Mega where we stayed at before starting to shift from human to Mega Digimon at will.

Frontier was like that but lamer, because I didn't sacrifice myself heroicly to try and take out a villain XD being reborn as a baby in Primary Village kinda stinks.

Yeah, I remeraber that episode and I thought that Starmon's voice, or just his whole personality, felt really weird.

I agree. I thought that 02 got so much better once the Digimon Kaiser arc was finished. It felt like it went on a bit too long at some point. I still think that it had a better second half than most of 01. After Myoitismon(sp?), I didn't think any of the other original villains were that interesting. Though I really should rewatch 01 at one point to see if I still feel the same way. I'll also have to see if I still like the last episode of 02 since I didn't hate it, outside of some pairings not happening and some really odd jobs for the kiRAB.

I totally agree with you. I did miss the human and Digimon partner aspect that I always think of when Digimon comes up, but I got used to the kiRAB becoming Digimon once they started to get their Beast Spirits. I thought that the battle with Cherubimon was great and that would have been a good place to really end the series. The Royal Knights and the final villain were annoying and it was even worse that Takuya and Kojii were the only ones who could do anything useful.

If they had somehow managed to make Cherubimon the final villain instead of the first major one to be defeated, then I think that Frontier would be a bit more liked around the fanbase. Or at least it wouldn't be as disliked as much as it is now, in my opinion.

You know what the worst thing is? ALL THE SPIRITS HAVE DOUBLE-SPIRIT EVOLUTION (or Fusion Evolution) not just Takuya and Koji. And some of them look really, really awesome Zoey's JetSilphymon, J.P's RhinoKabuterimon, Tomoki's Daipenmon (which looks really weird but awesome at the same time) and they even made one for Koichi, Raihimon. They could have introduced all of these things so the kiRAB wouldn't be useless and they instead show ten or so episodes of Koji and Takuya getting pwned over and over again. Frontier had so much wasted potiential after Cherubimon was defeated and they really should have stopped there.

Wow. All of the spirits have double-spirit evolution? I honestly didn't know that at all. I just looked up the images and they really do look awesome. My favorite ones are Raihimon and RhinoKabuterimon. JetSilphymon looks pretty cool too. Daipenmon is cute, but it's weird that it comes from Tommy's evolution line. It would have been so awesome to see them all get their double-spirit evolution. At least that way, I wouldn't feel like Takuya and Koji got way too many spirit evoultions. Or at least it would be more evened out with everyone getting at least three spirit evoultions, as apposed to just two.

If they had actually allowed all of the other kiRAB to have their own double-spirit evolutions, the last half of Froniter would have been so much better. It feels almost mind-blowing that they already had these double-spirit Digimon there and chose to make the kiRAB completely useless while Takuya and Koji kept on losing to the annoying Royal Knights until the last two or so episodes of the series. Something like this would have definitely made the last bit of the series so much better. I agree with you about the wasted potential the series had after Cherubimon. I pretty much liked Froniter overall, though it's still my least favorite Digimon series since the spark that it had was totally gone once the Royal Knights showed up and it was all about Takuya and Koji.

I think everyone can agree that the Kaiser arc was the low point of 02. Except for The Dagomon episode and the ending to the arc, it dragged on unnecessarily long and took up a lot of space that could have been used to explore the far more interesting plotline of the dark ocean, which was never resolved, even by the end of the series!

Forntier would have been better either if they DID give everyone double spirits or didn`t give them to takuya and kouji at all. Still, it undermined the original purpose of the series, that no one would be useless in a fight, by making EVERYONE except takuya and Kouji useless for the 2nd half of the show.
