been diagnosed with "diffuse annular bulge at c5 and c6. went to pain dr. got set of 3 steroid shots in the spine. didn't help a bit. anyone got any ideas? will chiropractic help? do i need surgery?

Stevie,

Hi and welcome Is the pain doctor the only doctor you have seen? The 3 shot you had are the ESI's right? What symptoms are you having? If I were you in my personal opinion...... I would not go to a Chiropractor. I do not believe in them at all. But that is just me. You will find others that will tell you to go to one. I would go see a Neuro. You ask do you need surgery? None of us here can say if you do or don't. We can only tell you what we have (symptoms), what tests, what type of doctor, and what surgeries we have had and weather or not it helped. You will find here some of every thing but the one thing I know for sure that you will find here is........ the nicest, kindest, caring, supportive, honest, and friendly people there could ever be. These people have tons of information that they are will to share. Sometimes we think we have more information then most doctors have. That being mainly because we are the ones in pain.

Every one of us are here for you to ask any kind of question. If someone can't then someone else can.

Keep us posted.

Again welcome

thanks, emtshirl.
i know only that i was told that i was getting steroid shots. The only other doctor i've seen is my primary physician. he referred me to the pain guy. the pain guy gave me the three steroid shots.
This did not help. my neck is stiff and painful to move. gives me headaches and makes the rest of my back hurt. i also believe that it is causing my arms to become nurab.(such as when they "go to sleep".) I spend 12 hours a day in a police car, and do nothing but lood from side to side, and bob my head, trying to "pop" my neck. Help.

I would urge you to stay away from a chiropractor. One wrong move with your neck could leave you paralyzed. Instead you should look for a neurosurgeon or an Orthopedic spine specialist who can better advise you.

If 3 injections didn't help, it's unlikely that more will. At this point, I doubt that pain management has much to offer.

And please ignore the guy who posted the phone nuraber for you to call! He has broken the rules by posting that and is probably nothing more than a shyster. What good dr. has the time to hang out on message boarRAB???

I hope you will stay in touch and keep us informed.

Carol
