Difficult question about trilogies

Hi,

Someone in my office has asked this question and it is driving me mad. Any help would be appreciated.

Which actor/actress has appeared in all 3 films of 3 different trilogies?

I have found loaRAB that have been in 2 trilogies but can't find any from 3.

Any ideas?

could it be a trick question ... like someone doing a voice over?

I was thinking of James Earl Jones who was in Star Wars and Tom Clancy trilogies ... and he was also the voice of Muphasa in the Lion King ( although I'm not sure he was in the last one )

This is going to drive me mad. There doesn't seem to be an obvious web-able answer.

If only there'd been a Babe 3, it would have been Hugo Weaving.

Ah... Is it Vic Armstrong, legendary stuntman?

Doubled for Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones trilogy and Christopher Reeve in Superman 1 to 3.

He did stunt work onscreen for three Bond films in a row. (YOLT, OHMSS, LALD).

Christopher Lee has been in the 3 LORD OF THE RING movies.
He has also been in 7 Hammer House of Horror movies playing the role of Dracula. in most it is the same Dracula.
Mr Lee has also played the part of Dr Fu Manchu in at least 5 movies.

LORD OF THE RINGS x3. 2001,2002,2003

DRACULA. 1958, 1966.
DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE. 1968
COUNT DRACULA. 1970
SCARS OF DRACULA. 1970
DRACULA A.D1972. 1972
SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA. 1979

THE FACE OF FU MANCHU. 1965
THE BRIDES OF FU MANCHU. 1966
THE VENGEANCE OF FU MANCHU. 1967
THE BLOOD OF FU MANCHU. 1968
THE CASTLE OF FU MANCHU. 1969

Must admit that this has got me pulling my hair out !!.

It's easy to think of an actor who has appeared in 3 different trilogies but not one to appear in all the 9 films that make up the trilogy.

My favourite answer for the one actor-3 trilogies is Bruce Spence who has actually managed 4 trilogies (Mad Max, The Matrix, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings).

Please can someone find the answer before I go mad :)

As I understand it, it has to be actual Trilogies, i.e. only 3 films. So whilst Christopher Lee has appeared in all the above, only one of them is a trilogy.

Keep trying - it is really bugging me :p

From Cool Movie Trivia :

Do you know of an actor or actress who has starred in three seperate sets of trilogies? We are having a hell of a time coming up with any, the best we could do was Christopher Lee, for LOTR, all those Dracula movies he made and the new Star Wars trilogy (even though he didn't appear in the first installment!)

CMT Answer:
That's a toughie. Christopher Lee is maybe one of the closest you could get for a major Hollywood actor. Another super-close one could be Harrison Ford for Indy, Star Wars, and two Jack Ryan movies (not a trilogy and he's still one flick shy). You've also got Hugo Weaving for Matrix and LOTR, but no third trilogy. Mel Gibson for Mad Max and Lethal Weapon (four flicks), no third trilogy. Mel could make a couple of Bird on a Wire sequels still.

If you were just going for starring in at least one entry in three separate trilogies, but not having to be in all three movies, then the floodgates open right up. One example would be Samuel L. Jackson- Die Hard trilogy (Part 3), Jurassic Park trilogy (Part 1), Star Wars prequels.

Our August 31st 'actors in three trilogies' question from our continues to pull in feedback. Larry wrote in with a whole whack of two-trilogy actors, including Frank Oz in Star Wars and Muppets movies, and James Earl Jones in the Tom Clancy flicks and Star Wars. He also noted: "The only one who might come close to being featured in three trilogies might be Warwick Davis. He was featured in Star Wars, Leprechaun, and Harry Potter. Of course Harry Potter 3 isn't out yet. " (Cal note: pretty close, yes, but he was only in Jedi in the original trilogy and Episode I in the prequels).

They don't kinow either.

Thought I had it Judge Reinhold was in The Santa Clause 1, 2 & 3, Beverly Hills Cop 1, 2 & 3 but only Beethoven 3 & 4, damn.

Eddie murphy is on the brink of three or four trilogies if he makes Dr Dolittle 3 or the Nutty Professor 3.

sorry mate but i am right , i insist.
a trilogy is a set of 3 movies within the same story line,
under your rules STAR WARS was a trilogy but when they brought out episode 1 it then wasnt, same goes for the Alien movies , so was it once a trilogy and now a quadrology, it doesnt make sense, i have Jurassic Park trilogy boxset but i suppose it just disappears after part 4 comes out ?

you need to accept that i am right
all hail Mr Leatherface :)

Agreed, but you couldn't add films 1 or 5 to that list and still call it a trilogy, which I think is what mr leatherface is disputing.

Star Wars is two distinct trilogies: The "Original Trilogy" (OT) and the "Prequel Trilogy" (PT). Frank Oz was in the entire PT, but not in the entire OT. Hence he only scores one trilogy out of it. Anthony Daniels, however, scores two trilogies as he is in all six (albeit only as voice in TPM), but has failed to turn up in a third trilogy, so he is no friend of mine.

It may be useful to list some trilogies and then look for the connecting actor(s)...

Matrix
Star Wars (PT)
Star Wars (OT)
Indiana Jones
LOTR
X Men
Spiderman
Scream
Jurrassic Park
...
