I currently use differin at night and duac in the morning and after 3 weeks my face is alot smoother. But since i dont like putting anything on my face in the morning i was wondering if anyone has tried switching differin/duac every other night?

Glad to hear of your success with differin and duac! :) Isn't Duac amazing stuff? I am on Tazorac and Duac right now and I apply both at night, since like you, I don't like putting anything on my face in the morning.
First (a few hours before I go to bed) I apply the Tazorac. I then rinse it off and let it "air dry" (as my derm. told me to do). Then right before I go to bed I apply the Duac gel. So far the method of my application of the medicine and anti-biotic has worked wonders. Maybe you could try applying both at night a few times and see what the results are like.
What did your derm. suggest you do? To apply Differin at night and Duac in the morning? I know Differin is suppose to be applied at night...as for Duac I believe the package also says night. Yet I have unsure of the different effects (good are bad) are by applying the anit-biotic in the morning or evening. Whatever you decide to do, good luck!

Luckystar/Jenguard82,

Do you know if Duac is always prescribed with Tazorac or Differin? Can it work on its own? I'm thinking of asking my GP about it but still not sure if its available in Ireland. My skin is very rashy around my cheeks and forehead at the moment and BP just doesn't do anything for it. Let me know if you think its worth trying it!

Thanks

I am only using duac and it is working for me. It will be a month on the 1st of Deceraber. I have to say I am still breaking out some though which is really bugging me because I am just sick of dealing with acne! It seems like it's always at its worst around my period which I will be getting on sunday or monday. I am happy with the results that I am getting with duac for the most part but I don't think it's a miracle or anything.

Tomorrow marks the 11 week mark for me since my derm recommended trying Duac. I have used it about 75-80% of those days (I don't use it every day now, I skip a few days a week). My face looks GREAT right now, I assume the Duac has a small part in that. Only other things I do is use Dial soap in the shower, and that's about it!

I still get some very small pimples, but they are gone in a day. It's been great so far, hope it continues.

For the record, I used one small Duac tube (45grams) in the 11 week timeframe. I just refilled the prescription yesterday, but I still have a few nights worth of stuff left in the first tube. :) I keep the stuff in the fridge (think it helps prolong the effectiveness of the BP and antibiotic).

hey guys! I have been using clindamycin at night, erthromycin in the morning with ampicillin antibiotics. Within a month, I noticed I stopped breaking out. My scars haven't improved much but it makes me happy that I haven't had any new breakouts.

I did go to a new dermatologist though just to see if there were any options other than antibiotics. But she just prescribed me tetracycline and duac to apply at night. I was wondering if anyone knows if I should switch to using duac.

I noticed duac has clindamycin too but I believe it is a newer topical cream and might be better. And also I know switching antibiotics might not be good, esp since it seems like the ampicillin is working as well. A

Any feedback is appreciated.
