Differences in the new iOS 5 betas...

Even though I've only had it a couple hours, I've noticed a few differences in the new beta 2 of iOS 5. I thought I would start this thread so others using the betas can share any new features they've found as the betas get updated. Any users not running the betas can also find out what to expect when iOS 5 is finally released to the public around Septeraber.

So this thread doesn't turn into a "how do you get iOS 5 beta", if you want to know more see this thread,

http://www.rabroad.com/forum/iphone-4-os-13/how-get-ios-5-beta-14838/

The main differences are various little bug fixes and overall a much smoother experience. Safari is much better and using the camera from the new lockscreen shortcut is now more stable.

I've noticed instead of getting an error when checking of OTA updates I now get a 'your software is up to date' message.

The iCloud icons have also been changed.

*edit* after just saying safari was better I've just noticed you can't paste into safari :(

I'll post more changes as/if I find them or when the beta gets updated again...

Please do. I would like to see them before updating to beta2. Also, I have the Itunes beta 1 installed and have beta 1 on my iphone. Do I need to install itunes beta 2 before updating or will it update to ios5 using itunes beta 1?

Thanks

beta 1 was available for windows i am told but i am not sure about beta 2... but the air sync will only work on osx atm any way.

Edit them into the OP if you like.

I was looking forward to the wifi sync. Was disappointed to find out it was only for mac. Hopefully a windows version is in the next beta. Will see if the iCloud sync is better tonight when my phone goes on charge.

@mg6035, you need to install the beta 2 version of iTunes first then you can upgrade your phone to beta 2. It is available for windows. I have XP Pro...

looks like if you backup to icloud it no longer lets you backup to itunes automatically...

not sure which i would prefere... icloud to backup my iphone or icloud, might try it with icloud after the next beta so i dont have to plug into the macbook pro or leave it on while restoring from a backup... would be much easier after official release when we see air upgrades also
