Differences between N80 and N95 aside from GPS and camera?

I am trying to figure out which one I want. Aside from the GPS and camera, what other functional differences are there between the two? I've read the specs but I would like to hear from people who have actually used both.

Would either one be better than the other for games and apps I use on my 6682 or are they both very un-backwards compatible?

I don't suppose either of them would be able to use my 6682 batteries, huh? (I know that's probably a stupid question but it doesn't hurt to ask, right?)

Thanks.

OK,

The N95 in addition to the N80 has Integrated GPS, More internal memory, Larger screen (but lower resolution), 3.5mm headphone jack, Mini USB port, Stereo speakers, AV out, MicroSD (instead of miniSD), N95 is lighter and thinner, dual slider, better slider, camera lens cover, superb gaming performance...

Im probably missing loads of other cool stuff but there's some to get you going.

I have no regrets moving from the N80 to the N95 and I thought the N80 was a great piece of kit!

Can't help with battery but I doubt they will be compatable...

Things like the headphone jack and stereo speakers mean nothing to me because I have a small portable satellite radio (in the 15 months I've had my 6682 I listened to music literally once, just to try it out). So while those seem like cool features, I am not concerned with them in the slightest. The GPS and mini USB port would also be wasted on me, although the AV output could come in handy because I take a lot of video.

Are you sure about the camera lens cover? It doesn't look like that in the pics I have seen online.

Is any one better than the other for single-hand use? That is extremely important to me. Also Internet use is very important to me.

Thanks.

internet use is awesome...never thought id be able to surf the web fully and talk to my buddies on AIM for 2hours on a phone. also, if video is important to you...the n95 takes 30fps "DVD Quality" videos. i think its limited to 59min. 59sec though...since with my 2gb card it says 59min and 1gb card says 59min as well. video quality is AWESOME.

Ok then, I must be retarded or something because looking at the second pic on http://www.nseries.com/index.html#l=products,n95,gallery the camera is all exposed and I don't see anything that looks like it covers up or protects the lens.

ive had the regular n80 and the n80ie....there was no difference in internet browsing between those 2 phones....it was made more simple with some added programs..but in terms of browsing it was the same

n95 is pretty much the same, except it has more RAM so it loads and starts up faster...

check that for a picture with the lens cover closed

I had the N80 and then upgraded the firmware to make it the N80ie, I noticed a great improvement but purely because they sorted the memory bugs. Pre-upgrade the browser crashed on any webpages approaching 1mb, with the upgrade it hardly ever crashed.

While I've never held an N95 in my hand, everything I've read convinces me that it outshines the N80 in every way except three: screen resolution, appearance, and price. Appearance is subjective, of course, and price may or may not matter to you.

The N80's very high resolution makes for a great web browsing experience. According to Michael Oryl, the editor of Mobileburn.com, the 95's lower resolution renders browsing somewhat less satisfactory. I have not seen this criticism elsewhere, however, and I hope it's not true, because Nokia has abandoned the super-high resolution in all upcoming and just-released models.

When I moved from a 6682 to an N80, I was unpleasantly surprised by the latter's keypad. I found typing easier on the 6682. The N95's keypad is probably improved over the N80's, but I can't vouch for that. If messaging is very big in your mobile life, you might want to try out the N75. It has a larger keypad. It also has US 3G, which (to answer your question) neither the N80 nor the N95 has.

Get the N95 now and stop comparing it to the N80 because the N95 is superior in almost everyway. You won't regret it, just go buy it. Go Go Go!!!!

I agree. I went from an N80 to N95 and haven't looked back. The ONLY (and I mean only) thing I miss is the high resolution of the N80 screen. The image is definitely not as "solid" on the N95 because of the larger screen size and lower resolution. I can see individual pixels on the N95 that was not an issue on the N80. If the N95 had a VGA screen, it would be one insane device. Having said that, the 16mil colours makes up for the lower resolution and the browsing experience is no worse than on the N80 - better in fact because of the larger screen size. Watching video is FAR more pleasant on the N95.

GPS and other novelties aside, the guts of the N95 are far far superior than the N80. Heck, just the fast menu navigation speed on the N95 is worth the premium.

The only reason I'd pick the N80 is if cost is a major issue.

I'm very happy with my move to the N95 from the N80. I do miss the incredible sharpness of the N80's screen, but I'm much happier overall with a larger screen, and FP1's font size control. Some things are VERY hard to read on the N80's small, high-res screen, (e.g., phone numbers in Contacts) and there's nothing you can do about it.

The N95 is noticeably snappier, and I prefer its button layout with the large "menu" button. I also don't find myself accidentally hitting the multimedia button like I did on the N80, however, the new Gallery button is extremely annoying and apparently can't be disabled.

The camera lens cover is a big plus, as is the elimination of the macro switch on the N80 which was always in the wrong position. Another thing I don't miss is the blinking blue LED. The N95 also has MUCH more program storage on the phone itself, so you don't have to worry about filling the phone memory up with applications. Internet telephony worked out of the box on the N95, and I could never get it working on the N80.

The case is also much nicer -- the rubberized back, and the elimination of the curve in the front where your ear goes makes it much more comfortable. The slider also has a nicer feel.

At this point, I think the only plus for the N80 is that its firmware is more mature, and thus more stable.

Thanks, I will look at that.

Does anyone here have a lot of experience with the N80 and N95 keypads? I literally spend five hours a day writing a report on my phone and do lots of emailing and web stuff afterwards so things like the keypad and web browser are very important to me.

Thanks.
