Difference between ASP and ASP.NET?

hello ..

i have learned ASP.NET completely .. but i have heard from my Friends that there is ASP also available with ASP.NET ..

but i dont know at all about ASP .. can anybody tell me what is the difference between these and which one is being more used now a days in the market

and i also thought dat let me download and install it from the internet for free .. do u know the particular link through which i can download and install my ASP for free so that i can learn about this ..

any help would be very highly appreciated ..
