Difference between Act and legislation?

1) laws passed by Parliament known as bills before the assent be the Governor or the Governor-General
2) An Act of Parliament or a piece of delegated legislation

Which one is act and which one is legislation? A more detailed explanation would be appreciated. Thank you! =)
 
Legislation is a law passed by a legislative body such as a Parliament, Congress, State Legislature, or City Council. A law is considered to be an act when it has already been duly passed by a legislative body. Legislation is law passed by government describing what can and cannot be done in a specific situation. An "Act" is a "... written ordinance of Parliament, Congress, etc." whereas a law is "a rule or system of rules recognized by a country or community as regulating the actions of its members
