HI guys what do you lot think of the movies die hard? I think die hard 1 is by far the best. But think all the other die hard lack any think really what do you lot say?

I thought Die Hard 1 was a great film (especially at Christmas). Was it really made in 1988? 
Die Hard II didn't do anything for me.
Die Hard with a vengeance was back on form but not as good as the first.
I haven't watched the fourth installment all the way through but have heard good things.

Yeh i argee die hard two was poor writted i think and was just there to make the money.
Die hard back with a vengeance was back to back like the 1st and it was great but not as good as the 1st.
die hard 4 is ok but nothing speical .
yeh die hard 1 seens only like last year cant beilve it is nearly 25 years old

A classic.
Die Hard 2
This good but not as good as the first. It went wrong because the area was too big. In the first you had an very enclosed environment. It was one man alone and trapped in a building he couldn't get out of. Although the damage he ended up doing it wasn't that hard to walk away. By putting the second in the airport you lost a lot of the tension built up that McClain could bump into a bad guy at anytime and get killed.
Die Hard 3
This is where it went wrong. In the airport there was a certain amount of containment, now let loose in the city that was gone completely. Also mclaine wasn't one man alone. Now he has Jackson's character who wasn't a fellow cop did turn it into a kind of Lethal Weapon budy style of film.
This is the film when the series "Jumped the shark."
Die Hard 4
Idiotic but fun. Other than Mclaine being in it this is like any other action film. This could easily have been an Stallone or Arnie film made in their peak during the 80's.
A classic.

Die Hard two is utter tosh - pure cash in and lacks a credible bad guy. Die Hard 1&3 are excellent possibly down to the bad guys who are pretty much spot on. Die Hard 4 is ok, but nothing to write home about.

Some people think 2 isn't as good, maybe this is because it was made via a different producer/director or whoever, whereas 1 & 3 have the same person and so 3 tenRAB to be better than 2.

Never the less, I have all 4 on DVD. Will acquire DH5 if it does get made

Die Hard is fantastic; even now, 23 years on.
Die Hard 2 is OK, bit is the worst of the original three films.
Die Hard 3 is also good, but not a patch on the first film.
I don't really count the 4th film as part of the series as it was too long after the first 3, although it was a good action film in its own right.

Does anyone know why the 4th die hard took so long to come out after the 3nd one.?
Die Hard is magnificence dressed up in a grubby white vest. Rickman's movie stealing baddie and the carefree use of the 'F' word make it a joy to watch. 
2 is fair enough... but it's not the the first.
I found 3 forgettable and despite loving Brucie, I found 4 thoroughly unlikeable.

I have all 4 in a Bluray boxset and they make great viewing.
The first film is clearly the best .
Part 2 is a good action film per se but as part of the DH series it smacks of cashin.
Part 3 is also a great action film and simply cashes in by using the Bruce Willis character when it could be anyone although the connection to the villains of part 1 was a nice touch.
Part 4 was a great action film although I do wonder if we will ever see the R rated version the director said he was filming instead of the studio enforced PG-13 edit.
Anyone with part 3 missing on their Bluray shelf can either get it from the US or if you're not multiregion you can get it from Australia who are Region B like the UK

Die Hard 1 and 2 are the best as with all sequels they tend to run out of ideas ..as usual the origional is the best ...a classic!!
