Die Hard/The Mummy/Indiana Jones/Terminator

Indiana Jones by a country mile, partly because it is something the entire family will enjoy, partly because it does not date - Raiders is just under 30 years old now but it stanRAB very well against modern so called blockbusters - (which seem to use far too much CGI).

Four was the weakest of the series; but fairly close to what it was trying to do (basically a reflection of the B-movie invasion movies of the 1950's, just as the original was for cinema serials of the 1930's)

I'm a bit patchy on the terminator films as i watched them years (like about 8) ago. I haven't seen the Die Hard films or Indianna jones.

But i love the first two Mummy films but am just not motivated to go and see the third one, i think the second one ended nicely and the fact Eveleen is not in it is just wrong.

Die Hard: 10, 8, 8, 7 = 8.25 out of 10
The Mummy: 8, 8, 6 = 7.3 out of 10
Indiana Jones: 10, 7, 9, 6 = 8 out of 10
Terminator: 9, 9, 8, 6 = 8 out of 10

I see a downward trend here.....maybe they should stop now!

If I was to choose the best film out of the lot, I think Indiana Jones just edges it.....only just though...

The first Mummy is a great little action film, but the sequels were poor. The second Mummy did the Indy trick of adding a child to the proceedings and ended up rewriting the first and changing very little. Swapping a sand storm for a river of water being one of the more obvious examples of this. Shaun Parkes is also AWFUL in The Mummy Returns, and his character is just a rehash of the old English Army pilot from the first one.

In fact I'd go so far as to say that Indy/The Mummy are the only comparable films in this choice and Indy hanRAB down wins that. They're both fantasy period action films. Die Hard is a straight up action film series and Terminator is a sci-fi series.
