Die Hard 4 a good film!

i didn't think it was that good the plot was stupid the action was fantastic though esp the police car and helicopter but other than that abit to long.

prefer die hard 3 better

Yeah, it was the Capitol Building

As I have said, I really enjoyed it. It's my kind of film. I'll be watching Transformers today, that looks good too.

Just got back from seeing it, and loved it, some of the stunts are crazy, expecially the scene with Maggie Q. The free-running stuntwork is very impressive too.

Nothing could beat the first Die Hard so there's no point comparing, but I think it's way better than the last one.

It was a good film - trailer looked a bit too much like full on action for my liking but fortunately it wasn't like that.

As a committed non-smoker I still feel McClane should smoke - he's supposed to be imperfect and a little troubled after all (didn't notice him wearing a seatbelt ever either) :)

Even if they do bring out a new box-set, the version of Die Hard 3 you wil get will still be the horrible edited one. Better get the R1 version and watch it. Much better. Plus, I wonder if DH4 will be a 2 disc release with all the extra footage and features and stuff. A nice 8 disc set would be a good thing to own.

Delgado was spot-on in his review.

Die Hard 4 certainly delivers on the action: motorway pile-ups, helicopters going down, F-16 fighters vs trucks, lots of machine guns.

But the problem with Die Hard 4 is that it is a cookie-cutter action movie. You could take Bruce Willis out of the movie, re-name the character, and stick another lead in the role and have the same effect.

I don't know about you guys, but that is what I expect from a Ben Affleck movie. I expect more -- much more -- from a Die Hard movie.

I expect the story to be carried by the fantastic character of John McClane, a guy who is a total burn-out: a heavy drinker, a smoker, with a crude and acerbic tongue, and a broken family to boot. But when the time comes, he answers the call. In THIS Die Hard movie however, McClane is none of those things.

The story is weak, the script is structured around stunt set pieces, no memorable characters, and the suspension of disbelief has been taken to preposterous levels (a villain gets smashed by a car, then gets back up to fight. Really?).

The film just seemed to lack any oomph, any zing...it just had lots of stuff crashing and exploding. Par for the course with many action movies, but you really expect something better from a Die Hard movie. I think it was a massive sell-out. And if ever you needed evidence of that, don't expect to get the famous "Yippee ki yay" line in its entirety.

Because McClane is a profoundly flawed hero (anti-heroic in fact). McClane deals with his problems by drowning himself in alcohol and killing himself with cigarettes. He is known to have an acerbic tongue from time to time, too.

And yet...despite not being a traditional role model, he has the character traits that counts: fearlessness and bravery. He is the one who answers the call (which was discussed in a very clunky way in DH4).

Now we have a McClane who has no obvious vices. No alcohol, no cigarettes, no strong swearing. He is a perfect, sanitised hero. But it makes him a whole lot less interesting as a character.

So what was the 15 rating for then. The BBFC says there is one use of strong language, so unless f*ck is said someone else in the film, we ain't getting the famous line?

It got a PG-13 in America, which usually means it's a 12 over here, so is the only reason it's a 15 because we hear him say "Yippie-ki-yay-motherf*gunshot*er?

I went & saw it this afternoon.I thought it was a pretty good movie with alot of action.I thought the scene with the harrier jet & the truck was pretty good & i liked the scene where McClane drives over the water hydrant to knock the shooter out of the helicopter.

I know these movies aren't meant to be taken seriously but 1 scene that i thought was daft was the scene where McClane hits Mia with the car & is driving through the building with her attached to the bonnet. The car crashes into the elevator shaft's wall with some force only for her to make a quick recovery & start fighting.

Because all action heroes should smoke. It's the natural order of things, despite what the nannying health fascists try to sell us. Imagine Connery's introduction in Dr. No without the cigarette. It just wouldn't work.

He does say "motherf*cker", but it sounRAB more like "Yippee Ki Yay Motherf*ck(bang)". It seemed to only be the "er" bit that was missing, but he definitely swears. I'm pretty sure that the BBFC will have played and re-played that bit just to make sure he actually did say it, otherwise it would have probably been a 12 (although personally, i thought it was a bit violent for a 12, 15 seemed about right to me).

I can't believe the DigitalSpy reviewer, i disagree with just about everything he said  But i suppose "opinions are like assholes...".
