Die Hard 4.0 another new trailer [03/04/07]

Very OTT and probably will sit way out of place when put beside the other 3 films, (but even 3 stuck out a bit for me), so I have mixed feelings for the film, but overall it does look entertaining, even if they did go overboard with the stunts and effects. The fact that McClane actually says his catchphrase (or most of it thanks to quick editing) in the trailer means that this film will thankfully not fall into the current trend of PG or 12 rated films that are doing the rounRAB. We are looking at a 15 movie here at least. Thanks God. Die Hard 3 was only 15, yet it was quite sweary and at times bloody.

And also quite obviously cut by the BBFC, especially the bit in the elevator, that bit just doesn't make sense on my DVD. Subtle editing :rolleyes:

If they made it a 12 it just wouldn't be Die Hard, a Die Hard film is meant to be sweary and bloody :cool:
 
I love all the 'Die Hard' movies but I only think 1 and 2 are true 'Die Hard' movies and 3 is a seperate movie with the same guy.

The reason I say 1 and 2 are true 'Die Hard' movies is because they are similar with John Mclane as a one man saves the day but with 3 it's more a buddy film and I think 4 will be the same.

So when I think of 'Die Hard' I think of 1 and 2 with 3 as a seperate movie with the same character and I think this will be the case for number 4 also, if you see what I mean.
 
Yeah, i know what you mean. Personally i only watch 1 and 2 together (over Christmas, due to the Christmassy feel to them and the amazing "let it snow, let it snow" theme tune at the end! :D), then i watch DH3 in the summer. I think part of why they feel so different is because of the time of year in which they are set.
 
I actually like the the first Die hard and the third one Die Hard with a Vengence. The second one was just was not quite as entertaining as the first two.
 
Perhaps because McTiernan directed them both?


The third film started off life as a script called 'Simon Says' it was nothing to do with Die Hard at all...McTiernan was asked whether he'd like to make this into a sequel to his first film he agreed and so central character was made into McLaine and script was developed into Vengance.

It was edited quite savagely. You should get yourself the R1 2 disc DVD set which contains all the cut scenes and dubbed swearing lovingly restored!

Any reason why we can't have the uncut version of Die Hard 3 released over here properly? I like the film and will no doubt watch it again when I get my 50 inch Plasma, but I always feel cheated when I see a film and I know what bits have been cut out
 
Its down to the distributor whether or not they decide to resubmit the film to the censor board. I wish Warner Bros would do the same with Lethal Weapon 4 as they submitted a UK cut version instead of the international uncut version to the BBFC.
 
Knowing the BBFC, I bet there were some headbutts removed. They have an unusual hatred of headbutts, Spider-Man 2 even had to have some removed.

This trailer was looking quite good until I saw the plane, I know it was over the top before this bit, but seeing the plane just made me point and laugh, it was like they were parodying what had happened in the trailer before by going too far.

Still, I'll be watching.
