Did you tell the news ASAP...or did you wait until you were further along to

share the news? I really want to tell the grandparents & our best friends, but my husband wants to wait & said he likes "our little secret."

Did you tell right away or wait? What was your reason? Thanks & Congrats!

We waited. After suffering through two miscarriages at 4 weeks and 5 weeks and watching my SIL have a miscarriage at 8 weeks (after hearing the heartbeat) we decided to wait until the second trimester. Some people say that they want to tell family anyway because they want the support in case something does go wrong. But from my experience it wasn't family that was the problem - it was the random acquaintances that came up to me in grocery stores or in coffee shops after my miscarriage and said, "Congrats! I heard you're pregnant!" because they hadn't heard 'through the grapevine' that I had lost it. Keep in mind that once you tell a few people EVERYONE will know.

It's been a lot easier telling people in the second trimester. People are more excited because they don't have to worry about a loss (the odds of loss once you hit the second trimester are much less).

I waited until I got a positive test from the doctors. I was really nervous to tell our parents for some reason. Like they would be upset about it. I'm 26 lol not exactly a teenager anymore but I still thought they might think I was to young. But everyone was very happy! So it all worked out lol

I was 9 weeks when I told my parents, 14 weeks when we told my partners parents, at 15 weeks we told close friends.
Im 18 weeks now and still haven't told everyone.

I was so excited being a first time mom that I told my parents right away, my husband's parents 2 days later, and then it started slipping quite a bit at work. I think by the time I was 8 or 9 weeks most people already knew I was pregnant. I was only 4 weeks and 1 day when I told my parents. If we have another baby after this, I'm definitely going to wait until a safer point, just in case. It's your choice!
