Beverly: I paid to renew National Geographic for 2009 in December 2008.
Since Februrary 2009, National Geographic has been sending me monthly correspondence asking to renew for 2010. I won't pay it until December 2009 though.

Actually, I was wrong.
Gained 400,000 new memberships and renewed 1,500,000 for a total of 1,900,000.
But gained 1,700,000 new members and membership renewals in the same time frame.
