Under *normal* circumstances, climate change IS cyclical. But because of increased human activity, that cycle has become abnormal to a point that when the cycle does begin, it's effects are often magnified and severely damaging as a result.
If humanity *is* to survive, it has to begin long-term preparations if we have any real hope of surviving.
The melting ice caps at the North Pole and the mass chunks of ice breaking off the Ross Shelf at the South Pole is a clear indicator that we have some stormy weather ahead and some unwanted changes in our immediate environment.
