Did you hear Dan Rather beg Obama to have government do something to protect

the "independence" of the media? I can't be the only one to realize what an oxymoron that is, can I?

I suppose I should go easy on old Danny Boy, he had to leave his job in disgrace. Can't remember why {wink wink}.
Danny Boy's rhetoric is code for one or both of these things: News industry bailout, or fairness doctrine. It's easier to spot than a fart in the car.

When did the news business decide that it didn't need to compete to keep its customers?

Like what? Censor all dissenting opinion? Remove any conflicting evaluations of the party line stance? USSR did that for decades, but Radio Free Europe managed to get the truth in despite their tyranny

Obama needs to take care of the people who take care of him. The media are these people. Who else will cover for him?

Beverly- Maybe if the media outlets used an unbiased reporting method they wouldn't be in trouble. The American people don't want to hear the slobbering love affair that is the mainstream media and Obama.

Dan Rather is a Democratic Party lap dog. He's part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Support a Constitutional Convention to get a term limits on all members of Congress. House and Senate. It's the only way we will ever get control of our government back.

He didn't beg Obama to do anything. He suggested forming a commission to look at ways of strengthening the US media outlets. Its not a bad idea to look at the business models they are using.

I notice the pro business Right are suddenly anti business because its the media and the Democrats. Interesting and completely typical!
