He's posting from the "new, improved Google Gropes". They no longer
provide a "references" header, so if you are using a threaded
newsreader, every time he posts, your newsreader thinks it's a new
thread.

I don't know. I did note that they have a new header, called
in-reply-to, which has a reference to a Google message, rather than the
normal message-ID.
It is unfortunate that google is the best for searches (or has
something better emerged?). I have thought for a while that
google is just too darned big for its own good.
