I did, I mean my parents were never like that, so i was taught to love everyone. But almost all the kids at my school are racist. I mean I'll never say anything racist to fit in, because I know it's wrong. Do you have to deal with this kind of stuff? How do you deal with it?
When I was growing up we lived in an area that was mostly white. I dealt with racism here and there, and some people discriminated not because that's the kind of people they were but because they had to play by the rules of the community we lived in and keep things nice by having the all American clean cut white kids in a better position than the minorities. I knew that stuff happened but I didn't let it rule my life. I would bide my time and when I could, I left.
I was born into the opposite situation - I live in Luton in England, and at my school where the population is majority asian, if you say ANYTHING that could be taken the wrong way at all, you get labelled a racist
However, I do think growing up in an enviroment like mine is good, as you learn about other culture and in my friend group four of us are white, 2 are black and one is asian, so we are pretty multicultural.
