Did you go to summer camp as a kid?

If you did, what was your favorite part?
What was your least favorite part?
Would you ever consider being a camp counselor or CIT (counselor in training)?
What type of camp did you go to? Overnight or day? Girl Scout, Boy Scout, YMCA, private, Christian, Jewish, or other?

A couple day camps. I always wished I could have gone to overnight camps but by the time I was old enough to reasearch it I was almost to old to go.

I went to a Catholic School and was promoted to be a Patrol Captain (you know one of those kids who holds out a red flag to tell cars to stop while they walk across the street) and we had to go to camp for 5 days and 4 nights to become a captain... I peed my pants the 3rd night and didn't even know till I woke up. And I was on the top bunk! hahah. Oh man good times...

i never did, i thought it would be soo much fun though :)
even though ive never been, i may consider being a counselor when im older.

Great Story: I was at Disney World with my best friend, and theres was this HOT camp counselor and he was lookin at us when we were getting our picture taken in front of the castle. I loved it :) lol. i even yahoo answered summer camps that go to disney world, im so lame :P

Nah, never did. Parents tried getting me to go. I always just ended up in the woods behind my house with a friend staying up late and being stupid teens.

Yes. Christian camp.Least favorite was waking up at seven in the morning for devotionals. Favorite part was meeting all the new people. No I don't have the patience to deal with kids to be honest.

I went to a day camp. It was run by the city
Favorite part: Going swimming twice a week and field trips
Least favorite: Being there so long (I went from 7am-330 pm and went from when I was about 5-12) and when it changed management and they changed the camp a lot.
I was a CIT one year, it was fun and I was able to work with the little kids. But you had to pay them so that was bad. I wouldn't mind being a counselor but I saw how much work they had to do and I didn't have enough time.

Yeah!
I went to a christian camp that was for a whole week.
IT WAS SO GREAT!
catching frogs, songs around the campfire, inspiration point, crafts, the great food, new freinds, hot guys, ahhh.
I loved it.
I should have been a councelor..
but you dont get paid. =] lol

It's too hot in Texas for summer camp, but in the fall we used to go to a weeklong camp during the school year. My favorite parts were the hikes and the skits on the last night. I never wanted to be a counselor.

The camp was sponsored by the owner of our local grocery store chain. I guess it was a private overnight camp.

One year my mother didn't pay the camp fee until the very last minute, and I had to stay with a bunch of girls that I didn't know. That was the worst week of my life.

I went to a day camp at a nearby college. I loved it! It was a great way to socialize with other children.

When I was at camp, I got my arm caught in the stair railing. They had to cut off the arm of my sweater to decrease the friction, so that I could get my arm out :(

I have always wanted to work as a camp counselor, but as a full-time college student I just don't have the time. I'm also a full-time student during the summer. I'm trying to graduate early.

I have never gone to a camp in the summer but in 5th grade, we went to this camp for a week. It wasn't a day camp, because we stayed there a whole week and we went with another school too. It was really fun and the counselors were amazing. It was kind of like a Nature's Classroom like camp and basically there were a few cabins to sleep in, one for the girls, one for the boys, there was this big barn for when it rained and for group meetings, and there was the dining hall. The rest was a big mountain, a lake, a few fields, and the woods. I think I might create a summer camp when I get older.

nope.
but i did go to the Courage to Stand Oshkosh Camporee 2009.
its where 35,000 Seventh-Day Adventist Pathfinders from all around the world come together to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for a week.
i'll just say that that was the best week of my life.
great memories were made there.
lease favorite part: surviving off porter-potties for a week. and mobile showers for a week.
not cool.
but otherwise i loved it!! <3

I went to some day camps and some overnight camps. I liked the horseback riding and the archery and talent shows and swimming and volleyball and shuffle board and well almost everything except arts and crafts.

Oh I hated girlscout camp because it flodded while we were out swimming (just our cabin) and all my stuff was wet and I had to wear my bathing suit for two days.

I loved, loved, loved camp!!! I went to a couple of overnight girl scout camps when I was young. But my absolute favorite was a Christian Performing Arts camp that I went to for a week out of every summer from 3rd-12th grade.
I didn't have a least favorite part, maybe leaving the friends that I had made when camp was over.
