I suppose so. I saw some anime before Toonami came along and the first anime I was actually aware was Japanese was Pokemon but it was Dragonball Z and Gundam Wing on Toonami that started me on my path to otakudom because they were unlike anything else on US television at the time and I found that intriguing. Tenchi, Oultaw Star and The Big O further probed that fascination and then I was hooked.
