Did the universe always exist, i mean what was the universe before the big bang?

Words like "always" or "before" are connected to the flow of time. Time started with the Big Bang. There is no "before" the Big Bang, it was the point of origin of both space and time.

As for the existence of other universes, we don't really know. Personally, I'm a strong supporter of the extra dimensions in our Universe.

How would our Universe die? If it continues to expand like it does now, it will become extremely rarefied, most of energy will dissipate into open space, and the Universe will become very cold and empty.

Is there a possibility that there are more than one universe, and how would our universe die or become nothing?

The answer put forward by 'sand', is a very clever way of explaining the universe relative to us (mankind).

An excellent simple response! Well said!

I do not believe there is any satisfactory answer to this question.
We all are like Fishes living in the ocean. Fishes can not know what is 'Ocean' and what is 'Water' (unless they come out of it). These things are taken for granted by Fishes. Likewise we can not imagine absence of space and time unless we come out of Universe and look at it from 'Outside' and live in the atmosphere of 'NO SPACE AND NO TIME'. We all know it is Not possible.

Many point to the Big Bang as the origin of everything, but the Big Bang does not address the issue of origin. The Big Bang is the process of expansion and it is still in progress. Many times those who refer to the Big Bang are speaking of the very early portion.

The evidence found so far does not indicate the origin of the components for the Big Bang, nor does the evidence tell us anything of events occurring before the Big Bang, although guesses and ideas abound.

I don't know of any scientific requirement for or against an infinitely long past or for a specific beginning. Until further evidence is found, your ideas about the origin are as valid as anyone's.

universe was nothing. there wasn't a universe. but its up to you to on what happened. some people say god created it in 7 days. started from space down to the planet earth perfecting every little bit of it each day. and on the seventh day he rested. but its up to you to decide.

No one knows, no one. Whatever you may think may indeed be true but then again it may not. Science has only theory and guesswork.

The truth is that nobody knows the answer to your question so we can only express our answer as an opinion. There most have been a significant reason for the Big Bang, what could have possibly caused it.

If the Big Bang truly did exist then there simply had to be something very large before it. The Universe is constantly increasing in size. What do you think that our Universe is expanding into? When you blow up a balloon it expands into air.

Maybe our Universe is clashing with another Universe. This would make sense if Scientists are correct in saying that our Universe is shaped like a Bagel. This could mean that our Universe would be the impossible hole in the middle of the Bagel constantly expanding and clashing into the larger Bagel surrounding us that could possibly be causing that Universe to expand. Nobody knows.

Do you think that there is more then one Universe? There are many different opinions of the Universe, (one being that a Black Hole is the portal to a parallel universe). We can give our beliefs and maybe an educated guess on the probability of the Universes nature. But never a truthful fact, (unless it is information on the topic of the Solar System or other topics of the Universe that we can explain in detail). :)

the universe was created from nothing, the universe was just a "point" in the dimensions before the "Big Bang".

space is infinite and has no boundaries.

if space started out finite then it always remains finite. Conversely, if it is infinite now, it was infinite from the very beginning.
