Did the story in the book of Job actually happen?

I believe that the Job never existed, at least he never had God do all those things to him

For example:
Why was Satan in heaven talking to God?
Why would God make a bet with Satan?
The messengers that kept telling Job all the things that happen were very Greek like

Thoughts?
Don't just say "Yes, it did" give me a reason or an explaination
I know God didn't do those things to Job, I meant Satan sorry

The Bible is 100% true, there fore, the story of Job must be true. It doesn't say Satan was in Heaven, it just says that he presented himself to God, and since God is everywhere, no one knows where it was. He wasn't making a bet, he was proving something. What do you mean by Greek like?

1) First of all the story is true.

2) God did not hurt or "do all those things to Job" as you put it. SATAN DID. Go read it again.

3) Satan and his demons had not been cast out of heaven yet. Read Revelation about when they were kicked out down here to the earth. At the days of Job they had not been kicked out yet.

4) What is the big deal with the messengers? They were of dark skin like most everyone in the Bible during that time. You just hear in movies and crap from bigots that they were white or something.

I don't get that you have read Job and still don't "get it". Your heart is not in the right place, that's why.

The book of Job has no real basic in the history of Israel. So it is joined in the wisdom books of the Bible. The entire book was written in poems in the Hebrew language. Perhaps, it came from the oral traditions of Israel. Satan is an angel but works against God the almighty. God used Satan to test His servant Job how he was strong in Fatah even he last everything.

There might have been a guy named Job, somewhere, sometime, who had a lot of crappy stuff happen to him.

But it being due to a bet between God and Satan? Pure poppycock...

Incidentally, why would an all-knowing God feel the need to prove himself to Satan in the first place? And why would he do so by taking a bet which, in his omniscience, he already knows the outcome to?
