No. The reason the 13 original states decided to rebel was because England was not honoring their contract with their colony in america. The british Parliament decided they wanted more money for their navy so they taxed the colonists. The problem with that was that the americans contract was with the king not the Parliament. So the americans complained but the issue was not resolved in peace and it caused enough friction that a war was started. Another thing was that for 100 years the colonists had been pretty much on their own and now they were being told what to do in an unlawful way.
