Did the Devil lie or did God lie in the garden in eden?

When reading the story of creation it says in Gen. 2:16 and the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat:
2:17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat of it you will surely die."
Man and woman ate the fruit and did not die as the Devil told them they wouldn't (Gen 3:4-5) also the Devil said they would be like God which was the truth. Gen 3:22 "Behold, the man has become like one of us, (God) knowing good and evil. Read the Bible then answer the question and be HONEST. Next question who is the us?
 
The creation stories in Genesis are allegories. They were not written to be journalistic historical records.

Also, the idea was that if Adam and Eve had not eaten of the forbidden fruit, they would have lived forever. Since they did, they had to die. "Surely die" doesn't mean "immediately die."
 
well, i honestly think that the devil lied. because, yeah, im christian.
and God didnt mean you will DIE die, he meant they will suffer, and be ashamed of theirselves forever more. thats why we wear clothes. because before adam and eve ate from the tree of knowledge, there was no sin, and they were not ashamed of anything, and they were naked. but once they ate, they had to cover up with leaves and shxt cause they were ashamed of their bodies.
and the devil said that nothing bad would happen to them, but something bad DID happen. we have sin, and we're ashamed of ourselves.
 
This meant they would lose their innocence. The devil was a liar then and is still a liar now. This could have cost them them their spiritual life, but this happened in another earth age.

The us is the angels and God. thus validating the promise of the loss of innocence and immortality.
 
God said that they would die. God is a spirit, and spiritual death always precedes physical death.We know he died spiritually because he was now fearfull.Fear is a condition of spiritual death.
 
the devil, aka satan, is another opinion, lie and deception of religion...
totally WORTHLESS !
