Did the camera work in Cloverfield make you feel ill?

It certainly did me, nearly pretty much straight from the start of the film. Came out feeling like I'd been on a boat!!

Shame really, as I wanted to watch the film, but I just had to have my eyes shut for most of the way through because I felt so sick.

Guess I'll have to watch it properly when it comes out on DVD, hopefully my TV won't have the same effect compared to the big screen!
 
Didn't bother me at all though i did hear that people at my local cinema asked for their money back because it did make them feel sick. BTW, Rupert Grint, aka, Ron Weasley was spotted watching Cloverfield here in Gloucester last night, all the HP actors are here at the moment filming Half Blood Prince.
 
I'm going to sound like a right wuss now but I shook all the way through the film like I do if I'm in the car too long or on a boat.

It wasn't until I came out that hubby pointed out a sign up saying can cause motion sickness. I thought 'ohhhhh that's why then' :o

Hey don't worry, I actually had to run out half way to throw up....but that might have been something to do with the fast food I had before hand.
 
I didn't feel sick at all, even though I have a history of throwing up at unfortunate moments due to motion sickness.

I thought the film was scary compared to other monster movies and I enjoyed it very much!
 
I had no problems with the style and did not fid it detracted from the film at all, unlike, say, Bourne Ultimatum, where the jerky camera was over done and totally distracted from what was going on on the screen (IMO).
 
no it didn't an god it scared me made me feel like I was actually there more films should be done this way it was this that made the film imo amazon film going to see it again soon
 
I didn't feel sick while watching the film, but I felt very disorientated when I came out of the cinema and for the rest of the evening. I thought it was a brilliant film - I wish i'd known about all the internet stuff, though.

Completely agree. In Cloverfield it was suitable because the whole point was that it was all filmed on a camcorder. In Bourne, it was just overdone, particularly in conversation scenes where someone's head was just bobbing about all over the shot. I got a headache during Bourne.

The camerwork in Cloverfield was fine for me. My girlfriend, who easily gets sick if she tries, for example, to read in a moving car, felt a bit queasy by the end!
 
Some people get motion sickness easily, even if they're not actually moving. I know someone who can't play certain first-person games because they start to feel sick (not due to the violence, lol, but due to the movement).
