did the 40 authors make up most of the people in the bible?

how would they have had such detailed descriptions of so many people's lives, there's just too many details in the stories like the lines what they said, it's just too suspicious.
how did they know exactly what did for example the wife of jonah respond when asked a question and what was everyone's detailed line, unless people were constantly writing everything everyone said down all the time.

Only the first 5 book cover a long period of time (about 2500 years).
The other books are written and compiled by people who lived through it.

As a matter of fact even Genesis is said to be a series of events that several authors wrote, one continuing where the previous one left off (first God, then Adam etc)

There are over 40 writers of the 66 books of the Holy Bible. One of the ways we can be certain that these books are the inerrant Word of God is that these writers, over a period of 4500 years, years and generations apart, have developed a message that is constant. and consistent

All the stories, all the books, the Biblical message in its entirety lead us to the following conclusion...

Man has been living in sin since Adam and Eve.

The wages of sin is death as God does not judge one sin to be worse than another. Because God is perfect, He cannot abide imperfection, therefore He must destroy it.

Therefore all men are in need ot a savior. From Genesis throughout the Old Testament God promises a savior and salvation to those who trust His promise.

The New Testament reveals God's promise fulfilled in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Many of the books were written by the people who lived the stories. The first five books, called the Pentateuch, were attribued to Moses. Joshua wrote about his time as leader/prophet to Israel, Judges was most certainly written by one of the judges...etc. David is the author of most of the psalms, most certainly a contributor to the books of Samuel. The prophets' chronology probably by the prophets themselves or their assistants. Solomon wrote most of the proverbs,lLamentations, Ecclesiastes, the Song of Solomon.

The gospels written by the men whose names they bear. Luke also wrote the book of acts. The apostle Paul, converted after Christ's assention, wrote 14 epistles or letters. John of the gosple also wrote the three letters bearing his name and the book of Revelation. Peter wrote two letters as well.

There is no way, generationally, they were all in collusion to 'get the story straight.'.
The coincidences occurring throughout the Bible coincide because thats the way it really happened, and it really happened according to God's plan. And God is beyond time and space.

Historical documents from the time periods exist, and they do not contradict the validity of the Bible. If anything, they support it.

This is how we know the julian calandar does not accurately record the year Jesus was born...according to Luke, Augustus ruled in Rome when Cyrenius was governor of Syria. Traditionally the first year of the A.D. period was year zero, the year Christ was assumed to be born.

Year Zero...Augustus ruled in Rome, but Cyrenius was not governor of Syria. He was not appointed to that position until A.D. 3 or 4. So we know the calander is off by at least 4 years or more.

This is only one example of history proving the inerrancy of the scriptures. There are many, many more. Historical record once thought to be contradictory to the Biblical record have on many occasions revealed that the errors were always on the side that wrote the secular history, never on the side that wrote the Biblical record.

There are so many resources out there, especially on the web, that provide evidence to the historical accuracy of the bible. Look some of them up on yahoo or google. Ask.com is a good source as well.

The Bible itself claims to be the Word of God. Jesus Himself viewed the Old Testament as authoritative and quoted from it throughout his ministry, as did the apostles who came after Him. In 2 Peter 3:16 Peter considers all of the Apostle Paul's letters as Scripture. The early Christians knew they were writing the words of God, even though they often did not fully understand what they were writing. As 2 Timothy 3:16 states, "All scripture is inspired by God." The words, "inspired by God" have the meaning of "that which is breathed out by God."

The Bible covers hundreds of topics, yet it does not contradict itself. It remains united in its theme. "Well, what's so amazing about that?" some people may ask. Consider these facts: First, the Bible was written over a span of fifteen hundred years.
Second, it was written by more than forty men from every walk of life. For example, Moses, a very intelligent man, educated by the Egyptians. Peter was a simple fisherman, Solomon was a king, Luke was a doctor, Amos was a shepherd, and Matthew was a tax collector. All the writers were of vastly different occupations and backgrounds.
In addition to this, many of these people also wrote in many different places. The Bible was written on three different continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe. Moses wrote in the desert of Sinai, Paul wrote in a prison in Rome, Daniel wrote in exile in Babylon, and Ezra wrote in the ruined city of Jerusalem.
If we put these factors together, the Bible was written over fifteen hundred years, by forty different authors, at different places, and under various circumstances, addressing a multitude of issues. It is amazing that with such diversity, there is so much agreement in the Bible. This unity is organised around one theme: God's redemption of humanity and all of creation. Hundreds of controversial subjects are addressed and yet the writers present a harmonious theme. It seems that the only way to explain this incredible unity of the Bible by so many different writers is that one author guided these writers through the whole process: the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21 states, "No prophecy was ever made by an act of human will but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."

Hmmm! Have you ever thought about just , in a sincere heart, asking God to show you that He is very capable of such a task? He knew you, before the earth was even formed! Wow! I'm sure He was able to have those folks write The Bible, just like He wanted it done! He knows what your question is, right now, go to Him, He's waiting on YOU!! Read, and study your Bible, that's how He talks to me sometimes. In a song, etc., and I've had the honor of being spoken to, now that was awesome! It's up to Him. He is God!!
