Toyota & foreign automakers? If Shelby of Alabama, as Chair of the Transportation Appropriations Sub-Committee gave Federal money to Toyota, Honda & others to build plants, train workers or other incentives, now that allegations have come up that Toyota conspired to destroy, hide evidence of crash problems in their vehicles made in Alabama, should Shelby be one of the first to ask Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda to attend the Congressional Hearings on the matter since Toyoda has said he didn't want to attend? Or should Senator Shelby work to secure the Defense Contracts for foreign company, Northrup to build the fuel tankers in his state seeing as how Northrup donated $100K to his campaign and it will benefit Alabama by $40 Billion? Or should he work to make the Alabama Tea Party more successful for Congressional Races in 2010 to build momentum as this could be a tide turning race. Shelby has been one of the most successful Senators in bringing money and jobs to his state although sometimes it has drawn criticism such as when he held up all the White House appointments last week unless the Defense Appropriations contract was re-written to Northrup's benefit. If you were Senator Shelby, what would the priorities for your time be this week?
A. Keep doing what you're doing, if it's not broke don't fix it.
B. Pipe down and keep a low profile for a minute.
C. Tell Toyoda to show up and make him look good.
D. Take time for the Tea Party.
