Did liberals complain when Bush visited elementary schools?

Because the cons sure seem angry that Obama will address children.
Should my mother have been mad at Reagan for righting a letter to me when I was a kid? (I wrote to him after he was shot and got a hand signed letter back that I still have)
 
Visited a few vs. nationwide video address ....hmmm?

One seems like compulsory PR and the other like some creepy 1984 sh*t.

I'm not worried though. I'll let my kids watch and correct any subsequent misconceptions about his loyalty or sense of duty to them.
 
Everything bush did appalled me and made my skin crawl but now that you mention it, no, it never occurred to me to 'complain' that he communicated with students or anybody else for that matter. It always seemed like a kind of normal expectation to me that a president (ANY president) might appear at the occasional photo op or perhaps even speak to humans if the circumstances happened to be really special or something... I guess I'm just kind of funny that way.
