They said congratulations, you got a merit scholarship for outstanding academic achievement called the Dean's scholarship.
However, my family is really poor, our EFC is O. I know for sure I'm getting the Pell grant.
So how come the only thing that appears on my financial aid portfolio is the Dean's scholarship, which gives you 6,000 a year? Are Dean's scholarships for poor kids who are good students? Does it include the pell grant? I thought merit-based was only based on academics...

On the college board website, most colleges have a financial aid package of around 32,000. I know that includes loans, but I would think that they would mention something about need-based aid.
