DID I SCARED THIS GUY AWAY?? I FEEL AWFUL ADVICE NEEDED ?

I decided to tell this very shy guy i liked him, and he admitted to having a crush on me too... but then he hasn't asked me out but we kept contact and text ed often and we got to know more about each other. so yesterday we went to watch a movie with a couple of friends and he kept texting me through out the entire movie telling me if i "got bored to come sit next to him .. " and when i sat next to him he kept telling me i owe him big time for not sitting next to him and he asked me if i was having fun' and that he is a fun guy.. so when our friends asked if we were dating he then said yes we are going out 3 times in a row then watched me.. i started a convo with him through texting and then i asked him if he considered me has more than a friend but i wanted to know because i felt confused and he never answered did i scare him away?? i feel awfull??
