Did I make a wise choice in joining the Army Infantry?

well its not a bad choice but i wouldnt go as far as to say its a good choice either. mainly because i ask what will Army Infantry do to help you in your future? if you have that all figured out then its a good choice and i have mad respect for you either way. it takes a man to decide to join but it takes a man with balls to join to get in the sh*t
 
They have this saying in the Army

"Why is the sky blue? Because God loves the Infantry"

If it's not something you want to be doing than you're going to regret joining, no matter whether you're pro military or anti. if you don't do what you love, you're going to have regrets

I love infantry, it was my second choice for MOC. I got an offer for Armoured Combat and I took it. I swear in today actually in a couple hours! :) I leave for BMQ on the 18th

depends on your personality.

Some hate it, some love it.

There aren't many civilian counterparts to what you are doing... so after you get out....it may be tough to use your experience.

for example... if you had gone into computer networking ...after you get out you make big bucks!
 
this can only be answered for yourself. the military is a lifestyle... and infantry (and combat jobs) is a tougher lifestyle. you can apply for special forces schools such as the rangers and make a career out of it.. or you might 1 term in the army and decide you want to head back into the civilian world again. im enlisted in the US Navy with a special warfare contract cause im really motivated for a great challenge and tough lifestyle. but like i said, only you can answer it and its all about what you make of it

My tax dollars are supporting you buddy, you had better be able to shoot a rabbit on meth from a half a mile away. As long as you are a stone-cold bad-@$$ motherf***er, you made a great choice.
 
i think that any service to our country is a good decision. you're protecting the legacy of our country and those who died sacrificing their lives defending the rights of our citizens. good luck to you. i have a good buddy in the armed forces too and i couldn't be more proud of him. Pro. You have made a choice that can lead you to so many things that most can't imagine. You shall be a man with a serious future if you play it right.

But..... make sure you keep your nose clean and don't do anything stupid.
