I was behind another car at a fast food drive thru, and as I was trying to get some change out of my wallet, I accidentally pushed on the accelerator with my foot instead of braking and hit the car in front of me slightly on the bumper. It hardly left a mark at all except for a tiny chip smaller than a finger nail. The driver and I spoke, he told me some story of how he just got his bumper fixed because another old lady just damaged the entire thing recently, and he seemed agitated at first. I was nervous, this being my first accident and very idiotic one at that, so I told him I was sorry and I gave him my phone number(home & cell), my insurance, and showed him my driver's license.
He didn't want to call the cops, since both our cars suffered hardly any damage, and later he decided that 'maybe' he won't call his insurance company seeing how it will raise mine and he felt sorry for me because I was young and it was my first year with my license.
My mom says I gave him too much information, and that he, in turn, asked for too much when it was not even a big accident. It just happened today, and I was wondering if I should call my insurance company anyway? The Driver said he will call me back, which my dad will probably answer for me.
