Hi, I bought a 2008 Toyota Yaris two months ago. I thought I made a good deal, but would like to hear your opinions. Although it's a 2008 vehicle, it was categorized as a used car at the dealership with 12,127 miles on the odometer.

Sale Price: $12,955

Down payment: $1,000

Monthly Payment: $298.47

I financed an auto-loan with the dealership at 5.4% for 60 months.

I also bought the Toyota Extra Care insurance for 72 Months / 75,000 miles for $2495.00.

Unpaid Balance due at Delivery: $15,628.31

After five years, the entire cost of everything is between $17,251.06 and $17908.20.

Good or bad deal?

It's a fairly good deal. The financing you set up isn't great, but not knowing your credit score, it may be very good for you. Personally I waited until Hony with Honda America started a deal of 2% financing for credit scores over 680, but such deals are few and far between.
The 2008 Yaris is a pretty reliable car from a company with an even better reputation. I know a lot of people are telling you the Extra Care plan wasn't necessary, but I guarantee that you made the smart move, especially for 2,495. There are a number of unexpected problems that could end up costing that much.

GREAT DEAL

except: the Toyota Extra Care plan, you didn't need that, the car is super reliable, and if you read the fine print on that contract they could reject any free repair if you fail to follow the maintenance plan to the letter. ( Meaning ) if you miss one oil change or radiator flush Toyota can reject any future repair if needed.
