Did I do the right thing with my 1995 Honda Civic?

I've owned it for 11 years. It has 76K on the clock. It runs like a dream. I spent a grand repairing rust on the rear wheel arches and it now looks show room.. But the car can't be worth more than 3 or 4 grand. Am I nuts?
 
I think it depends on why you fixed it. If you fixed it to have a nice car, then no, your not nuts. If you fixed it to have a car to build, then no your not nuts. If you fixed it to sell and make money, You are kinda nuts. you could sell it to a 16 year old and make money.
 
I have owned Hondas my whole life..........they last FOREVER! If you maintain it, you will have no problems getting at least 200k out of it. If you are planning on keeping it and driving it into the ground, the $1000 spent on cosmetic issues probably could have been better spent elsewhere. However, if it makes you happy, thats all that matters.

As far as resale, check the bluebook value on Kellybluebook.com, see what it would have been worth in the condition it WAS in compared to the condition it is in now. That will be your best way to tell :)

i dont think your nuts cause that car will probably last longer then you, shit my integra just hit 225,000 yesterday hahaha but its a 92 so, hondas last ofrever, and if you wanted to make money off it sell its to a beaner, or an asain fool, they would pay good money for that car in its condition.
