why do people believe these stories?
mac-a-licious: "put away childish things" ? you mean like baalams talking donkey? noah and the ark? jesus flew up into the air ?
 
Because we trust the authority figures in our world when we are young and inexperienced. Of course if we do not put away such childish things as we become the age of adults...
