from their governments? Is there a political motive behind the intention to Christianize the countries whom they intend to colonize ? Why is it that colonization seems to go hand in hand with spreading Christianity ? Just look at Africa, Latin America and Asia.
 
Yes they did.

Many people now refer to it as the Holocaust of the Western Hemisphere... seeing as about 95% of the native populations died from disease, or were slaughtered.
 
San Diego Missions are still standing. Modern day proof that the Spanish sent priests to convert natives and 'tame' them. They gave them just enough 'education' to spread Christianity, then the government was able to buy the land for a pittance. By the way, all those indignant Hispanics angry over 'their' land being taken by the US seem to forget they were not the first ones here either.
