Did buying a Ducati make you want more Ducati's

Got the 848 and thought that would do me, but I am now seriously contemplating selling my beloved 10R and getting a Hyper. What has Ducati done to me?!!?!!

I'd ridden English and Japanese bikes and only knew a little about Ducati till I saw an 888 at a Ruidoso, New Mexico rally in the late 80s. I slobbered over new models since then, when in 2004 I ordered a new 999R. I thought there was something wrong with it when I started it. Sounded all rattley, but had a nice thump thump thump over tone. First few rides and I was in over my head and had to learn how to ride this dangerously fast and weird bike. 30,000 miles later and I love this bike. I still peek at it out in the garage at night before I go to bed. I like the idea of having a multi strada but would rather go for a touring BMW. I have two scooters. A 250 honda Ruckus and a 49cc Vino. A Dodge pickup that hardly moves anymore.

I rode a brunette once and really, really enjoyed it. I had to ride it again and again just to see what it could do. Then I saw a blond model and had to give that one a go. Tried a few English types and a couple Cali models but always seem to migrate back to the midwest corn fed types. Got my first red head a few years back and then mixed it all up with a strawberry blond. That is the keeper now and the latest version constantly reminds me that the my test riding days are over.

Anyway, I don't think its a model issue but much more of a riding issue.

I had an Aprilia Tuono before this, and I have to say that it was the most solidly performing bike I've ever had, and perhaps the weirdest looking. I've only had the beautiful and more comfortable 848 for 3000 miles, but to be ride-able it needed $2k worth of suspension work. The Tuono had a nasty flat spot at 4-5k, but that was fixed for $1300 and wasn't something that was likely to pitch you into the trees like the devil-toys that Ducati tries to pass off as suspension.
I will always consider both Aprilia and Ducati in the future, but so far the Kool-aid hasn't been that addictive. Both have strengths and weaknesses.

I hope to receive my bike tonight. It's a 09 M1100s.
It's my 3rd Ducati. Wish I still had the Hyper. Great bike. The 1089 was wicked.
The M1100 will be my 9th bike in 20 years. Once it's in your blood....
