I love my DUcati, now I want a speed triple as well.
Dude, if you've got the means, go for it. If you have more than one, you don't have to worry about putting a ton of miles on ONE bike.
Just make sure you don't overpay for that 748. I missed on a mint 748R about a year ago that I could have swept up for $6500! I was waiting for a dealer in Santa Rosa to hook me up with a Hailwood they were "certain" to get from an estate sale. Needless to say, I passed on the R and the Hailwood never really materialized. I was PISSED!
Oh, and unless you're a wrench, get your wallet ready. Those 749/916/996/998 bikes carry a hefty maintenance schedule. They ain't like the new ones!

I had a 749, I wanted to find an older superbike but ended up getting a 1098S. I'm already planning my next bike haha, not going ot happen for another 2 or so years though but I'm trying to keep myself from running out and getting another loan haha. Trying to decide on a monster or a streetfighter next or whatever cool comes out next. Can't be another SBK though.

You know, I used to feel the same way about the 749/999. I thught they were FUGLY. Then, I went riding with The Dude. He had a 999R and that thing had to be one of the sickest bikes I'd ever seen!

I don't know about more Duc's now that I am forced to buy a new GMC Sierra Denali so I have a bed to haul my girls around in. Money might be a bit tight for awhile. But maybe I'll have just enough left to squeeze that RSV4 into the garage...
