did anyone fall for that kirby cult sales pitch and pay 1500.00 for one?

and was there and end to what attachments came with it .
i want to say someone told me they had one with a knife sharpener on one that's disgusting but i have no confirmation on that
a girl at a place i worked had bought one for 1500.00 and i always joked about it to her i told her she could have bought the franklin mint miniature version for 500.00
 
Some friends bought one years ago when they were $300. A member of my daughter-in-law's family bought one last year at probably the price you mentioned and I think his wife was ready to trade him in. She was furious and I don't blame her.
 
I think one of the angriest times I can remember my Dad getting at my Mom was when he came home and found the new Kirby, which was bought on time payments. That was way back in 1954. Would you believe that Kirby was still working more than 40 years later?
