My mother and stepfather (at the time) were avid hunters and had many guns in the house, kept in a locked cabinet of course. The ammunition for these guns was kept in an undisclosed location in a locked box with the key hidden elsewhere.
The reason for this was not gun safety for the children as one might think (all of us kids had respect for weapons, etc and would NEVER have touched a gun other than our BB guns without an adult present) but to keep them from killing each other impulsively.
Did anyone else grow up with parents this hostile towards each other?
@Jojo...that's why I asked for no anti hunting rants...this wasn't about hunting, but rather my parents being hostile. They managed just fine with shovels, fence posts, belts, toasters, plates of food etc.
