Did anyone else fall asleep during Avatar?

Honestly, I thought it started out okay but towarRAB the end my eyes started closing, 3D wasn't amazing, the aRAB were better. I fell asleep nearer the end, am I the only one who didn't like it? Everyone else seems to think it was great.

I thought it was boring. The story, writing and acting weren't enough to keep me interested and I just didn't care about the visuals. Didn't really impress me much more than watching a sophisticated computer game.

I was pretty happy about their not being much talking or people kicking my chair but that was wasted on a film I wouldn't watch again.

Hannah;38360212']I hated it. 3 hours of pure torture. I asked my friend if she wanted to leave half way through the movie but she kept saying 'maybe it will get better'. It didn't. I don't understand the hype... The worst movie I've seen in a long time. Btw this isn't an exaggeration.

I would have fallen asleep but the sound was too loud:D

I was with it for the first 40mins or so and the last half hour was fine but the middle was interminable. I don't think I've ever looked at my watch to see how time was passing as much in any film I've seen before.

yeah i was bored by it. doesn't matter how amazing the effects are, if the script is hackneyed and full of cliche then no 'sexy' 3D can overcome that.

District 9 had a similar storyline but had originality and sparky funny clever dialogue.

James Cameron (and George Lucas for that matter) can't write dialogue to save their lives.

I thought I fell asleep during 2012 but I kept waking up seeing an airplane taking off from a crumbling runway. How many times did they replay that scene. Yawnnnnn!

Being the higest grossing film ever and so much hype, everyone was expecting more if I'll be honest.

You can bash me for saying the truth but after hearing so much about it I thought this was going to be one of the greatest films ever!

Typical Hollywood remaking and re-using old stories with new actors and effects PERIOD!

Not saying the film is bad, I'd rate it 7/10 because it was enjoyable then Transformers 2. :p

I've never heard anyone going on about "more depth to the 3D" in Avatar. Quite the reverse, most people who liked it seemed to appreciate the fact that this was a 3D movie that didn't resort to any of the regular 3D cliches (hanRAB waving in the foreground etc,) and actually used it quite sparingly.

I agree Toy Story was a game changer, but, as Spielberg himself has said, Jurassic Park was just a development on the technology established first in The Abyss and then in T2. That James Cameron, he gets everywhere...

No I didn't fall asleep...my bum did though.

I LOVED the film...and wanted to live there with them, and got quite depressed when I had to leave the cinema and go back into the grey world. :(

I am ok now. :D
