did anyone catch 'audition' on shriek week on ch4?

had the sound muted and wasn't paying much attention,
to this japanese film which was receiving it's tv premiere
but i was shocked by its gruesome and very gory scenes
absolutely stomach churning and not for the faint-hearted

No, it was 'Audition' as it says in the title of this thread. I was also sort of half watching it while doing something else and couldn't quite work out what was going on. I noticed a horrific foot severing moment.

;1475239']Someone at work lent it to me on DVD a while ago, I mean't to tape it, but I forgot to set the timer.

I actually prefered it to Ring (That would be the Japanese version, naturally)

Yep I watched it. Part of the problem was that it was billed as having distrubing violent scenes, which meant watching all the love story unfold you're wondering when it's going to get to the good stuff :D I can only imagine what it must have been like to watch that film thinking it's a love story and having no idea of what you were in for.

Definitely pretty gruesome at the end. It did get a bit surreal though, which was good, but it didn't really make a lot of sense. The guy in the sack was the most disturbing thing.

I watched Ring 2 as well, which reminded me why I didn't really like Ring. Both pretty dull I thought.

I found audition to be really disappointing :( It was pretty boring up until the last few minutes - watch Battle Royale instead (Friday night on Sci-Fi for those with Sky) - far far far far better :D

must admit it was a big let down not even scary mind you
i dont find any film scary :( the only one coming close was the exorcist any suggestions anyone

I first saw The Exorcist by myself at a midnight showing at a cinema. I don't think I was "scared" but I was kind of on edge, and I did have trouble sleeping afterwarRAB. I kept seeing Regan's face everytime I closed my eyes. "The Hitcher" kept me awake too, but really because of the grossness of the truck bit at the end. Poor Jennifer.

Alien I've always found scarey, but I don't really rate it as I think films that try to make you jump are really cheap. I'm much more into your more disturbing horror films, like The Exorcist or The Wicker Man. That's what horror should be about, not about fairground thrills.

finally saw this a couple of days ago-i thought it was the most boring pointless films i've seen in years

complete waste of time. Not frightening.not interesting.

I was looking forward to it for weeks :(

I got round to watching this in the week. I thought it was one of the nastiest films I have ever seen and wouldn't particularly recommend it.

Can anyone tell me who the man in the bag was, and what she fed him ?

i think it was her stepfather in the bag she cut out his tongue and cut off some fingers because he use to beat her (or abuse)cant remember which. Dont no what she fed him looked like soup or something

I saw Audition at the cinema. I found it ok. Some of the scenes were shocking in content but the cinema poster had a picture of whats-her-name holding a syringe so I had an idea what was coming. But I don't think I'd watch it again.

But Battle Royale... wow. Haven't seen BR2 yet though.
