Did anyone actually believe that Bristol Palin was really getting married?

From the beginning this story about this teenager planning to marry her boyfriend seemed like something faked by her mom to cover loose behavior of her daughter... And baby's dady bailed the first chance he got.

I don't believe he ever planned on marrying her, they were just teenagers haiving unprotected reckless sex and Bristol should be looked down on as the rest of irresponsible teens

The engagement was arranged for the campaign - all for show. I never believed for one moment that the guy was ready for marriage. It was reckless of both of them to not use protection, but for whatever reason, they didn't; and now Bristol's life has changed forever because of it.
 
It's just like any other teenage relationship. The girl is dumb enough to believe that the guy who only wants one thing will marry her, and the guy is too cold hearted to care for the feelings of the girl and their child.

I never believed it for a second.
 
too bad for her. palin just wanted candidates. thats why the bible says to have sex after marriage.
 
All the Palin family believed it and so did the dad-to-be. Unfortunately few, if any, were thinking about the child-to-be. It was all down to the results of the election. If McCain had won and Palin become VP then it would have been a society wedding and they would have been portrayed as responsible teens, doing the right thing. They didn't win and reality has set in and they are, as you say, nothing more than irresponsible teens. It's just a pity that their parents couldn't have come out and said this but they were waiting for the election results.
