Did Americans "dodge a bullet" by keeping Sarah Palin out of the White House?

Oh, honey - to have some dud in the White House who doesn't even know Africa is a continent? To have some slobbering redneck giving away tax dollars as a BOUNTY to slaughter wolves? To have some two-faced hypocrite who can't even be bothered to raise her own children? To have an ignorant backwards hick who thinks "foreign policy experience" comes in the form of being able to see Russia from her house?

We haven't dodged it YET...as you can see from the rapid response units still being sent to her defense.

The Princess of Privatization has her fans still...and they may yet split the Conservative party over Palin.

Hard though it is to believe for most sentient beings...many of our countrymen and women see it as a positive that Palin didn't know Africa was a continent...because they don't know. And they don't care to vote for people who make them feel dumb.

Which narrows their choices somewhat.

Yes, they did, and when Great Granddad had popped his clogs, kicked the bucket, likely assisted by the crazies at the CIA, then the Grizzly from Alaska, wherever the fuc** that place is, would have been in charge.

Merde, yes, a lucky escape. Now she can go back to sacking police officers who refuse to take her up the arse.
 
I don't think that any VP is going to be a major influence on the Whitehouse. She seemed to be a difference in the campaign, and in a sense, I don't think that McCain could really lose.

If they win - she helps with the parents and taps into the middle class.
Now they have lost - perfect scapegoat with the "sources" now giving her heaps of grief in the press about being a Diva and the like.

I think that keeping the spin aside, her first speech was first rate and gave McCain a boost. Also, her debate with Biden seemed to serve her well, and her personality shone through, even though there were obvious gaps in her knowledge on policy.

Dodge a bullet...? Nah. But wouldn't it have made for a more interesting political landscape over the next 4 years?
 
Actually, America has taken a bullet with our Communist friends taking over the White House.
 
No! We have dodged a dumb bomb. Hopefully, when she decides to run for the Presidency in 2012 that she will know that Africa is a continent, that South Africa is part of that continent and that NAFTA is made of the US, Mexico and Canada! etc.
 
God yes, How anyone could think of letting her near the White House is beyond me. When she was first offered the job of V.P. she said she didn't know what the job was. Seven weeks later, she still didn't know. How could she not know after seven weeks? We would have flunked third grade social studies if we didn't know that. Now she denying that she didn't know Africa was a continent. Given her track record, I couldn't believe her if I wanted to.
 
Media campaigns smeared her, so no I don't think we dodged a bullet, I think we took one. The day after Obama was elected..Russia put missiles on the border of Poland and they also announced that Putin, due to a amendment in their constitution could be back in power as soon as next year.....for those of you who don't know the history...Putin is ex KGB and believes in rebuilding the soviet union...the only world power strong enough to take on the United States we were in a cold war with them for 4 decades...for stupid people that is 40 years...ending in 1991 with all troop withdrawal. Think Putin wants to be nice to us?
Obama makes one bad move or fails to show he has the fortitude to take them on...it will be over for us. Hopefully he has a pair and is not afraid to do whatever is necessary.
